Good Morning,
I’m looking around for an arena which could be rented for an hour a week so we can continue lessons throughout the winter. The barn which we used to use closed so we need somewhere else to ride until spring when the footing is good. It’s easier for us to continue our riding throughout the winter so we’re better prepared for showing in the spring. Our coach is Mark Isenberg from Smiths Falls and we are three pony club kids, two tested “C” level and myself who is “C2” working towards my “B”. We trailer our own horses in and just need an arena and a time slot. Our horses are all UTD on coggins, shots and de-worming and we all have our OEF memberships. I’m really hoping you’d have some room available.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Jeanette Gladwin
So glad you found my image helpful. It became very popular in hoof circles…
But the photo also brings me to another few hoof topics for your website. The photo was taken in Gulfport, MS at the Gulf Coast Classic Horse show in March, 2011. The hooves belong to a horse named Accolade ridden by Ali Strakal in the Children’s division.
Thunderstorms had brought buckets of rain and because of the puddles, the horses were picking up their feet unusually high.
Amazingly enough, the footing was not slick. In so many situations where the soil does not drain good or is of poor quality, riders could not have competed under these soaked conditions. And, after their rounds, horses hooves were immediately dried and cared for appropriately.
Thank you Sarah for your update on the photo. It is a great photo and appreciate you allowing me to use it!
Cheers!

Hi there,
I’m a rider with 12 years of experience looking for a certified coach to achieve my level three riding. I’m a fairly advanced rider, have taken the last 2 years off riding, and need to get my level 3 rider certification by the start of august for schooling. (English Riding)
On a side note, I will also be looking to purchase a horse by august, and if there is a horse for sale at your barn I could take lessons on, I’m very inclined to purchase a horse I have experience with.
Let me know if this is possible, or if there is a way this might work for you.
Thanks
Zoe
Oh boy thank you Zoe for getting in contact with me. We always have room for interested horse people.
Imagine riding and training with a certified coach and a senior judge. What a great way to get a ‘jump’
on the competition. You can ride at Thistle Ridge Stables because we have other people here who are also
wanting to get their level 3 (or higher) and I can help you get there!
Thanks and hope to here from you,
~Laura
